HAPPY EASTER

FESTIVAL OF COLORS

Those of you that don’t know what he festival of colors it celebrates the beginning of the new season, spring. Originally, it was a festival that commemorated good harvests and the fertile land. Hindus believe it is a time of enjoying spring's abundant colors and saying farewell to winter. It also has a religious purpose, commemorating events present in Hindu mythology. During this event, participants hold a bonfire, throw colored powder at each other, and celebrate wildly. 

We had never been and always wanted to go but would forget about it each year. This year I planned ahead and we went on Saturday.  We took Drew’s best friend Bryce with us also.  Let’s just say it was an experience!! A bit crowed 50,000 people!!!!!!!! we all had to hold hands every where we tried to walk or we would have gotten separated instantly! it was crazy crazy!!!! you could not walk without touching people!! we had to walk about  3 miles to the temple and back to our car after, the parking was just outrageous! The boys seemed to have fun I think.  I’m not sure I’d go again, that was a bit to crowded for me! I didn’t mind the mess, inhaling it was not fun though! lol At least we can say we’ve gone and experienced the festival!!!

EASTER EGG HUNT

Here are some pictures of Jackson from the Easter egg hunt.  Drew was off getting eggs with friends in his age division so no pictures of Drew.  Poor Jackson hates taking pictures in the sun!!! He refuses to open his eyes!! lol

The other day the boys dyed their eggs! I loved that Alec still wanted to dye eggs even though he’s going to be 14 in 3 more weeks!!!!!!!!!

SPIRIT WEEK

This week at the boys school has been Spirit week.  Each day it’s been a different theme.  On Monday it started with pajama day, Tuesday was crazy sock/tie day and Wednesday was crazy hair day and today was hero/super hero day.  The boys love spirit week because they don’t have to wear their uniform to school every day.  Alec can live without dressing up since he’s older but I talked him into it.

Pajama Day (Monday)

Crazy Sock/Tie (Tuesday) Jack didn’t have any crazy socks to wear.  And he hates to wear ties! lol

 

Crazy Hair (Wednesday)

Hero Day (Thursday) So Alec wore my dad’s old Army coat that he wore in the Vietnam war and Chandler wore Jordan Wynn’s jersey from the Utah Utes and Drew and Jack wore old Karate uniforms they had! lol
